About the Founder

Caroline Fithen, MA
Professional Counselor Associate • Divorce Strategist • Trauma-Informed

Educator & Advocate
Supervised by Jennifer Sowers, LPC

Caroline Fithen is a clinical counselor, divorce strategy coach, educator, and advocate dedicated to helping women navigate the unseen complexities of non-physical domestic violence, coercive control, and high-conflict divorce. Through her work at Peaceful Resilience Counseling, she offers group-based therapeutic support rooted in trauma-informed care, psychological
education, and deep relational safety.

Caroline holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology. She specializes in supporting women whose experiences with non-physical harm—gaslighting, legal intimidation,
emotional manipulation—have been minimized or misunderstood by systems, communities, or even loved ones. Her clinical work is grounded in helping women rebuild self-trust, emotional regulation, and connection after psychological trauma.

She is also the developer of The Quicksand Model, a framework that articulates the layered impact of non-physical domestic violence and supports professionals, survivors, and systems in responding more effectively.

In addition to her counseling practice, Caroline offers 1:1 high-conflict divorce coaching —a non-clinical service that focuses exclusively on strategy, education, and boundary support for women navigating emotionally or legally abusive separations. Coaching clients gain clarity, language, and tools to move through complex legal systems while protecting their peace and their children’s wellbeing. Her work extends beyond the individual to the family and community level through:

  • Facing Giants: a sensory-rich, trauma-informed support space offering regulation and connection groups for children and mothers impacted by domestic chaos.

  • Too Beautiful for Earth: a remembrance and healing space for families grieving and navigating the realities of infant loss.

Across all her platforms, Caroline’s mission remains clear: to restore Safety, Awareness, Freedom, and Empowerment for women and children rebuilding their lives after harm.
